The Howard M. Leftwich Memorial Fund honors a legacy of social justice
Dr. Howard M. Leftwich, a distinguished faculty member at the University of Cincinnati, and father of Julie Leftwich, Director of International Peace and Security Initiatives at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, was a forerunner in social justice. “He wanted to see the good things in the world”, remarked Julie. “And a lot of my passion for social justice work came from his influence.”
To honor his lasting impact, the Howard M. Leftwich Memorial Fund has been established to directly support the work of the College’s International Peace and Security Initiative. This initiative is dedicated to advancing global stability by fostering an understanding of the drivers of insecurity and paths to peace. It trains future advocates and leaders and supports global organizations and institutions dedicated to human rights, peace, and security.
